The Department of English was established in the year 1950 and has grown with the college. The department had the privilege of having some eminent faculty members including the late Prof.M.K Shanmugam who headed the department as founder principal of the college. His vision of academic growth and excellence of students’ community are still carried out by the existing dedicated faculty members successfully. All the faculty members are talented and render their service wholeheartedly for the improvement of students’ studies. Simultaneously, some of the faculty members attend National and International seminars/conferences. Dr K.Thiyagarajan, Associate Professor & Head, presented papers in the National and International Conferences. Meanwhile, he published an article in the Journal ‘Language in India’. Mr. M. Anandharaj, Associate Professor published a book. He has also done some translation works. While Mrs.V.Kavitha, Assistant Professor organized some student oriented programmes, Mrs.K.Jayanthi, Assistant Professor presented some papers in the National/International Conferences.
