The Department of Commerce [Accounting & Finance] was established in the year 2014. This Dept. offers an unique undergraduate course, that provides access to the highest quality business education meant for achieving intellectual and professional goals. This job oriented course includes subjects like Accountancy, Law, Taxation along with other skill based syllabi.

The Department of Commerce which was established in 1950, started offering B.Com degree in 1970, under the Headship of Dr. B.Chengalvaragam. it is a most sought after Dept., with its Alumni occupying higher positions in Govt. organisations as private sector. The faculty members pay special attention to the overall needs of the students who come up with a range of issues. In order to make students potential and employable, the department organizes a number of field visits every year.

The Dept. of Commerce (Computer Application) was started in the year 2010. It is well equipped with computing & communication devices for use by both the students and the faculty. Being well qualified, the faculty members provide a quality god education to their students, in order to equip them with all the qualities towards facing any challenge ahead of them, in this era of ICT.

The department of Computer Science was established in the year 1992 and Bachelor of Computer Application was established in the year 2003. The Dept. has adequate laboratory infrastructure to conduct UG programmes with unlimited internet and LAN connections. It has a bunch of qualified faculties with updated subject knowledge.

The department of Business Administration was established in the academic year 2005-2006. It offers the Undergraduate programme in Business Administration (BBA) which is affiliated to University of Madras under the CBCS pattern.

Tamil is one of the ancient classical languages in the world. It is very rich with vast literary works. As literature is considered to be a subject which teaches life and everything, the department desires to provide sound knowledge in Tamil language and literature to the students. The Department of Tamil was established in the year 1950.

The Department of English was established in the year 1965. The vision of the Dept. is to facilitate students to enrich their communication skills in the English language and inculcate in them a love for reading and interpreting literature. The department believes that students should understand the “meaning” of literature in terms of social, cultural, aesthetic, and intellectual movements, in addition to enriching themselves with core skills through general English subjects, and the Dept. is striving hard towards achieving the same, bettering with time and sustaining.
