Pitty Theagaraya Chetty Senior and Sir Pitty Theagaraya Chetty Junior have donated and formed the Institutions during the year 1917, when their properties partitioned amongest themselves, they have set apart a portion of their property for Educational purposes. Sir Theagaraya College is situated in the property donated by senior Pitty Theagaraya Chetty and Junior Sir Pitty Theagaraya Chetty.
They have appointed PT. Chengalvaraya Chetty and Rao Bahadhur, PT. Kumaraswamy Chetty as trustees to manage the properties. They are the two people who were responsible for forming the first Board of trustees in the year 1937.

We are today living in a Technological world where Information Technology has made insights into achieving Quality Consciousness in life especially in Education providing the platform to achieve excellence. Our institution has been in existence since 1950 and has nurtured many eminent pedagogues as well as graduates and post graduates who have excelled not only in their educational endeavour but also in public domain. There is always a small doubt in our minds as to why this institution, which has been started by Stalwarts and Philanthropists, has not grown and exhibited its strengths so far.
